Pawleys Island, SC–Georgetown County got its initial glimpse of the county’s first Southern Living Showcase Home this week as Classic introduced the River Run.
Located at 961 Tuckers Road in Litchfield Plantation, Pawleys Island, this Classic Lowcountry home is located on a spacious lot nestled among oaks and near the area’s best golf courses and amenities.
Classic, a member of Southern Living’s prestigious custom builder program for over ten years, and led by the mother/son team of Susan White and Berkley White, broke ground on the Litchfield location in late 2016. “We are proud to introduce this home to the Litchfield area. It is exciting to be part of this community and Georgetown County,” said Berkley White.
‘The River Run’, from Southern Living’s Classic Homes Collection, is adapted from a plan designed by renowned architect, John Tee. Its ample 2494 square feet will be comprised of three bedrooms, three and one-half baths, a two-car garage, bonus room, and gourmet kitchen. In true Lowcountry style, the home is accented with an elegant front entry porch, an outdoor living area with fireplace and a detached boathouse or workshop.
The River Run will be open for tours August 18 – September 10 with holiday tours scheduled for November 3-19.
In keeping with the Southern Living tradition, tours and events held at showcase homes benefit both a local and national charity.
Classic has chosen ‘Teach My People’, a non-profit centered in Georgetown County, as the local recipient. Well known throughout our region, their mission is to teach children and youth in the Waccamaw School District to overcome academic, economic and social challenges through the delivery of Christ-centered programs and services. “We are most honored to have been selected,” said Eric Spatz, Executive Director.
The designated national charity will be ‘Operation Finally Home’ a non-profit organization with a unique network of experienced builders, suppliers, and supporters dedicated to building homes for wounded, ill or injured veterans, surviving spouses and their families.
“We are proud to be part of a network that builds mortgage-free homes for America’s military heroes–those who have worn America’s uniform and sacrificed so much to defend our freedoms and values,” said Berkley White. During the press conference, White announced that funds raised during tours would be earmarked for a home to be built in Georgetown County. “We do not yet have a location or a recipient family, but with the help of Operation Finally Home, we are confident that we can find both,” he concluded.
Classic, comprised of the well-known mother/son team of Susan and Berkley White, has built more than 900 homes in the Carolinas and has more than 50 years of combined experience in home building.
