Susan White of Classic has Recipe Published in Bon Appetit

Myrtle Beach, SC–Susan White, Founder & CEO of Classic Homebuilding and Classic Interiors of Myrtle Beach is a woman of many talents. She is an accomplished homebuilder and a prominent figure in a male dominated industry.  She is a sought-after interior designer whose designs can be found in offices and homes throughout the Carolinas, and she is responsible for the build and design of two Southern Living Custom Builder Program Showcase Homes.

Now, Susan White can add to the list ‘an accomplished cook whose recipe for crab cakes was published in the August issue of Bon Appetit’.

Pawleys Island, SC–Georgetown County got its initial glimpse of the county’s first Southern Living Showcase Home this week as Classic introduced the River Run.

Located at 961 Tuckers Road in Litchfield Plantation, Pawleys Island, this Classic lowcountry home is located on a spacious lot nestled among oaks and near the area’s best golf courses and amenities.

Classic, a member of Southern Living’s prestigious custom builder program for over ten years, and led by the mother/son team of Susan White and Berkley White, broke ground on the Litchfield location in late 2016.

When we think of the lowcountry, visions of sprawling oak trees, draped with Spanish moss, forming an archway above a country lane, flash through our mind. Romanticized in movies like Forrest Gump and Gone With the Wind, live oak trees are true icons of the South. But what do we really know about these majestic trees?

The Southern Live Oak tree, scientifically known as Quercus virginiana, is named “Live” because, unlike most oak trees, they are nearly evergreen. They replace their leaves quickly, within two weeks, and the leaves remain green year round.
