As we humans have evolved, so have our homes.  Our houses have become more like guardians of our spirit—living, breathing relations than mere forms of shelter.

So many of our happiest memories are attached to the various homes where we’ve lived since childhood—perhaps, forbidden fun like whooshing down the banister, or how the sun drenched the walls of the “front” room with a golden light, or unexpected places where our children played, such as dormers and alcoves, or rooms that offered privacy and other rooms that welcomed guests.

Knowing a house well and forming an attachment to its atmosphere and spirit is one of our earliest experiences with intimacy.

Southern Living Custom Builder Program Showcase Home Sponsors Stuff a Stocking

Myrtle Beach, SC— Now through November 19, visitors to the Southern Living Custom Builder Program Showcase Home will have an opportunity to assist local homebuilder, Classic Homes, in providing donations for the Stuff a Stocking program.

Aiding local charity, Teach my People, the donation drive will help the Pawleys Island non-profit fill the stockings of the more than 100 children on its roster.

“This drive is a huge help and blessing,” said Executive Director, Eric Spatz. “Our goal is to provide stockings for the 103 children in our care, from first graders to high school seniors.

The Nashville trio of Rob Crosby, James Lee Hicks, and Billy Montana, Nashville singer/songwriters who have written songs for, and performed with, Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Lee Greenwood, Lonestar, Tim McGraw and more will perform on August 26 from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the Southern Living Custom Builder Program Showcase Home at 961 Tucker’s Road in Litchfield Plantation, Pawleys Island.

The Southern Living Showcase Home Opens This Friday, August 18 in Litchfield Plantation
