By definition, the word ‘classic’ means ‘a work of art of recognized and established value; something memorable and a very good example of its kind’. While traditionally we have assigned this powerful word to art, books, recipes and architectural styles, it is quite fitting that one of the Southeast’s premier builders, and one widely recognized here along the Grand Stand, just happens to be named Classic. The company owned by Susan and Berkley White has a history as interesting and diverse as the Grand Strand itself.

The corporation will house Classic Homes, Classic Commercial and Classic Interiors. “The idea is to have one umbrella organization with everything under one roof,” said President, Susan White.

“There are so many choices that surround a building project—the floorplan, the amenities, and the fixtures.  It makes sense for the client to be able to make those choices at one convenient location. Experts are on hand to guide clients through the process, and a sample room allows them to actually see the products that will go into their home or business,” she continued.

White will receive the prestigious Thomas N. Bagnal Award during the South Carolina Home Builders Association’s Celebration of Excellence in November. Myrtle Beach, SC—Berkley White of Classic is the recipient of the First Annual Professional Remodelers’ Council Award.

The announcement was made during a live broadcast at this morning’s 2012 Home Improvement and Outdoor Living Show at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. “White received the honor as the result of Classic’s solutions to projects that included whole house, outdoor living, kitchen and bath remodels. The award was based on the remodeler’s answers to the homeowner’s needs,” said Rose Anne O’Reilly of the Horry Georgetown Homebuilders Association. “Classic not only achieved the goals of these homeowners but exceeded all expectations.”

“I am extremely honored,” said White.
