At the close of the Grand Strand’s most recent Southern Living Custom Builder Program Showcase Home, Susan White, Founder of Classic, reflected on what it means to be a member of Southern Living’s prestigious Custom Builder Program. “For us, and for our clients, it has been a worthwhile and wonderful partnership,” she noted.

Classic is one of approximately 90 builders throughout the United States hand-picked by Southern Living, that meets the stringent criteria that set the Southern Living Custom Builder apart. This invitation-only program selects custom builders acclaimed for their detailed craftsmanship, excellence in customer service, financial stability, and use of quality building materials.

Before members are selected, Southern Living checks homeowner and business references and conducts a site visit to ensure they are choosing a builder that will deliver both a quality custom home and exceptional customer service. To ensure both quality and consistency, builders must apply and undergo the rigorous evaluation on an annual basis. Classic is recognized as one of only a few builders nationwide to consecutively maintain the ranking year after year. 2018 marks Classic’s 10th year in the program.

As a Southern Living Custom Builder, Classic has access to Southern Living’s House Plans, a collection created by well-known architects and designers throughout the nation.

Classic, which built this area’s first Southern Living Custom Builder Program Showcase Home in 2012 welcomed another custom builder showcase home in 2017. This time utilizing a Southern Living plan designed by renowned architect, John Tee.

According to Susan White, “The Southern Living Custom Builder Program Showcase Homes provide an opportunity for prospective clients to see the latest in home design and building technology—everything from the latest colors to the most modern appliances. After all, who doesn’t love a beautiful home?”
